Come volunteer with our furry friends!
Volunteering is great way to support your community! Come walk our dogs, socialize our cats, and help out at the shelter!
We have taken some time to revamp our Volunteer Program to make it more effective for both animals and people. Volunteers will need to be 18 years or older to volunteer alone. All volunteers under 18 must have a parent or guardian present.
Effective June 1st, ALL volunteers will need to attend Volunteer Orientation, and any yellow or purple dogs will ONLY be walked by volunteers that have had such training.
We are always looking for consistent Volunteers to walk our dogs and play with our cats. We occasionally have the need for volunteers to walk dogs with specific needs (yellow and purple) that will require additional training.
We’d like to see this position filled by a handful of people. We often need help in the afternoons with general office assistance, helping the public get animals in and out of their kennels, and working with the public to find the right animal fit for their home. These volunteers will need to be willing to handle most of our adoptable pets and feel comfortable answering questions from the public.
We are looking for another handful of volunteers willing to set up, attend, and tear down event equipment for various outreach opportunities. Often these can be inside or outside and usually in a high population of people. Typically we have available animals for adoption and may need volunteers to help answer questions or handle the animals.
If any of these positions (or any other volunteering) sound like something you may be interested in, we would like to invite you to the next Volunteer Orientation. The next scheduled dates are as followed:
