Understanding Marijuana: The Dangers of Marijuana Use
Marijuana is not like alcohol
On April 4, 2018 the Berrien County Board of Health expressed its opposition to the legalization of recreational marijuana in the State of Michigan and passed a Resolution addressing their concerns with the proposed initiative.
The purpose of this Resolution is to highlight the health and societal risks associated with the legalization of marijuana for recreational use and to provide communities and individuals with information about its potential impact on your community's health.
The current legislation proposed gives limited attention to the development of regulations and oversight, penalties for sale to minors and/or misuse, standardization of dosing levels, prevention education and early intervention counseling for minors, or an infrastructure for addressing industry safety issues and needs.
