What is the Board of Health?
The Board of Health oversees the operations, programs, and services of the Berrien County Health Department. Members of the Board are appointed by the Berrien County Board of Commissioners for five year terms. The Board of Health serves in an advisory capacity to the Berrien County Commission. By statute, the Board of Commissioners is the Local Governing Entity and Legal Authority for Local Public Health in Berrien County.
What are the responsibilities of the Board of Health?
The Board of Health performs the following important functions:
• Approves Health Department Programs and Services
• Provides Interpretation of Department Responsibilities, Policies and Programs to the Community
• Approves the Department’s Budget and Request the Funds from the Governing Entity
• Recommends Adoption of Local Regulations to Protect the Health of the Public

When does the Board of Health meet?
