You want what's best for your child and family. Vaccinations from preventable diseases like measles or whooping cough are safe, effective, and protect your children, family, and others who you care about. Berrien County Health Department Public Health Nurses serve you by providing and distributing the immunizations you need to be protected from vaccine preventable diseases. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends routine vaccination to protect against several vaccine-preventable diseases that occur in infants, children, adolescents, and adults.
Influenza & Flu Clinics
The single best way to protect yourself and your family against the flu is to get vaccinated each and every year. Everyone 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine. The Berrien County Health Department provides flu shots for children, adults, and seniors at various flu clinics and by appointment throughout the flu season.
Flu Vaccine Costs for 2016-2017:
The Berrien County Health Department accepts most major insurance plans, Medicaid, and Medicare. The flu shot is generally covered under most insurance plans, but no one will be turned away due to insurance status or inability to pay.
There is a small administrative fee of $23.00 for all vaccines. A sliding fee scale may be applied to reduce this administrative fee; no one is denied services for inability to pay the administration fee. Vaccine Information Statements (VIS) are also available in Spanish (Español).
Children who have Medicaid or whose insurance does not cover vaccines are eligible for this program which provides vaccines at no cost to the family. There is a small administrative fee of $23.00 for VFC vaccines. A sliding fee scale is used, and no one is denied services for inability to pay the administration fee.
